Course Levels

The length of time it takes to learn German depends on the goals of the learner. Our course levels are based on the Common European Frameworks of Reference for Languages and range from A1 to C2. It is entirely possible that, without any background knowledge, you could begin in level A1 and in 9-10 months be ready to undertake a specialized course of study at a German university. Our progression plan allows you to extract the specific content you need from each course level.

Teaching Material

Teaching Material

Normally, the Standard Course centers around the course textbook, which contains a variety of language exercises, listening activities, videos, and authentic texts.

In the Intensive Module, intensive communicative training with supplementary materials is emphasized. Your teacher designs the sessions so that all students participate actively in the lesson, speak extensively with one another, exchange information and discuss opinions.

In the Premium Module, you can incorporate your own ideas and personal learning goals into the curriculum in order to focus on subjects of interest to you or areas of weakness, whichever you prefer. The teachers compile materials in accordance with your wishes. Normally, the Premium Module is a small "mini-group."

Currently we are using the following course materials (subject to modification):

  • Coursebooks: Netzwerk A1, Netzwerk A2, Netzwerk B1, Kontext B2, Aspekte neu C1, Erkundungen C2
  • Worksheets, newspapers and magazines
  • Audio and video materials

The course books are not included in the price. They can be purchased at our school.

The Standard Course takes place every week Monday through Friday and always begins at 9 am. There is a break from 10:30 am - 10:45 am. The Intensive Course contains 20% more instructional time than the Standard Course. The two afternoon seminars are always Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 pm - 2:30 pm. In the Premium Course you will have additional sessions Monday and Friday afternoons from 1 pm - 2:30 pm. Wednesdays you are free to visit the self study center, where our teachers are available to work with you on topics that remain unclear from class or to help with homework. We try our best to stick to course schedules whenever possible, but occasionally, changes to the schedule are unavoidable.
